Mizzoni is all about Hot, Fresh, Fast, Quality Food. We Love Pizza!
We are committed to making Pizza properly, following traditional time tested methods. Our ovens cook at over 500°C and our dough is long proofed to increase taste and digestibility.
We have locations in Hamilton, Whangamata and Ohakune along with Mobile Catering that also includes Tauranga, Auckland and Rotorua/Taupo.
One (John) was one of the fussiest eaters you have ever seen while the other (Ryan) would happily eat practically anything – We’re sure you can guess who the chef is. On a 2 day trip to Melbourne the childhood friends both ate what they could both agree was the best Pizza they had ever had. Stumbling across what afterwards they found out was one of Melbourne’s best Pizzerias for dinner on the first night the experience was so good that they had to go back to dinner the following night before they flew out.
On returning to Hamilton the idea of a Mobile Woodfired Oven for catering and casual dinners around Hamilton was born. A trailer was built and an oven was sourced from Australia and within 2 months there were Pizzas being churned out at speed as recipes were refined and many pizzas ‘had’ to be eaten.
That was late 2009 and early 2010, in the next 5 years the boys have served tens of thousands of Pizzas in settings ranging from 21st birthday parties and BMW model launches to The Gallagher Great Race, NZ National Fieldays, Markets and A&P Shows. Features in Nourish Magazine, Waikato Times Tempo and Best Food Site Awards have followed.
Mizzoni now has a permanent Takeaway Pizzeria at 2/111 Thomas Rd, Hamilton, a seasonal winter takeaway pizzeria at 20 Goldfinch St Ohakune. We also have a summer Pizza and Espresso Shop at 800 Port Rd, Whangamata and a summer pop-up at Hahei Holiday Resort.
We still have 2 trailers and a 20’ Shipping Container that we use for Events and Catering Functions.
We have developed our recipes and techniques over the last 6 years and are inspired by Traditional Neapolitan style Pizza.
